The money was donated to the Lutheran Child and Family Services Center and was designated for Resident Supplies. Lutherwood is a residential treatment center for children who are recovering from the effects of abuse, neglect and/or abandonment. The center is a state of the art facility and the staff is very passionate about helping to give these children the best possible future. Dennis Wimer, Executive Director and Jerry Shomali, Therapist, accepted the donation on behalf of the center. Our next donation in conjunction with the WKA will be made November 7th 8th at Lowes Motorspeedway in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dan Peck, Executive Director for BGCSJ, was able to accept the donation on behalf of the center. Dan stated he was floored by our generosity and was ready to put the funds to good use . While visiting the center on Friday, May 1, KRFK also donated new backpacks, t-shirts, water bottles, hats and stickers for all 120 kids at the center. The donation to BGCSJ was made on behalf of our class winners from Daytona International Speedway in December.
